About the Packaging Assistant Position
Tiger Brands is looking for a Packaging Assistant to support warehouse and production operations at its Roodekop facility.
The role focuses on the safe and accurate receipt, storage, movement and issuing of materials to production. The successful candidate will also be responsible for maintaining stock accuracy and following quality, health, safety and environmental procedures.
Packaging Assistant Responsibilities
The successful candidate will be responsible for:
- Receiving, loading and offloading materials and trucks safely.
- Operating forklifts and authorised material-handling equipment.
- Issuing materials to production accurately and on time.
- Identifying, handling and storing materials correctly.
- Conducting stock counts, cycle counts and stocktaking activities.
- Maintaining accurate inventory records.
- Reporting stock variances and discrepancies.
- Ensuring materials meet required quality-control standards.
- Completing warehouse documentation and system transactions.
- Reporting damaged, missing or non-conforming materials.
- Maintaining good housekeeping and 5S standards.
- Following health, safety, environmental and quality procedures.
- Supporting efficient warehouse operations.
- Ensuring production has sufficient materials available when required.
Minimum Requirements
Applicants should have:
- Grade 12 / Matric certificate.
- A valid Forklift Licence or Certificate.
- At least 2 years’ experience in warehouse operations and forklift driving.
- Experience with material issuing, stock counting, loading and offloading trucks.
- Basic knowledge of warehouse, quality and safety procedures.
- Good communication and numerical skills.
- Strong organisational and time-management abilities.
- Good attention to detail.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- Ability to work under pressure.
- Willingness to work shifts, including day and night shifts.
- Willingness to work overtime, weekends and public holidays when required.
