Handyman Maintenance Job Overview
Premier FMCG is looking for a Handyman maintenance to join its Blue Ribbon Durban team. The successful candidate will assist artisans with general and technical maintenance activities to support the effective operation of equipment and plant at the facility.
This role is suited to a hands-on candidate with maintenance experience who can work safely in a busy factory environment.
Key Responsibilities
The Handyman will assist with:
Technical Assistance
- Provide general technical assistance to artisans.
- Assist with maintenance activities on equipment and plant.
- Support the effective operation of production equipment.
- Work safely with mechanical and electrical equipment.
Housekeeping
- Maintain clean and organised work areas.
- Follow workplace housekeeping and safety standards.
- Ensure tools and work areas are properly maintained.
Preventative Plant Maintenance
- Assist with preventative plant maintenance (PPM).
- Identify and report equipment issues.
- Support maintenance activities to reduce equipment downtime.
- Assist artisans with general maintenance tasks.
Minimum Requirements
Applicants must have:
- Matric / Grade 12
- 1–2 years’ experience in a similar maintenance role
- Knowledge of equipment and plant
- Understanding of production processes
- Ability to work safely in a factory environment
- Good communication skills
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Physical ability to perform hands-on maintenance duties
