Job Overview

Econo Foods is looking for an experienced Delivery Driver Code 14 to join its logistics team in Kimberley.

The successful candidate will safely operate an assigned truck, deliver goods accurately and on time, maintain vehicle safety and provide professional customer service.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct daily pre-trip vehicle inspections and ensure the truck is roadworthy.
  • Safely transport and deliver goods to customers.
  • Verify deliveries and ensure goods correspond with delivery documentation.
  • Maintain accurate records of mileage, fuel consumption and delivery receipts.
  • Record and report incidents or accidents.
  • Communicate professionally with customers, warehouse staff and other stakeholders.
  • Respond to customer delivery queries and concerns.
  • Report mechanical faults and vehicle maintenance requirements.
  • Follow company procedures for vehicle repairs and maintenance.
  • Comply with traffic laws, safety requirements and company policies.
  • Keep the truck clean, organised and properly equipped.
  • Ensure delivery documents and required equipment are available.
  • Use appropriate PPE and follow workplace safety procedures.
  • Attend meetings, coaching and training sessions.
  • Support the team in achieving operational goals.

Requirements

Applicants must have:

  • Grade 12 / Matric or equivalent
  • Code 14 (EC) or Code 10 driver’s licence
  • Valid Professional Driving Permit (PDP)
  • 3–5 years’ proven driving experience
  • FMCG retail experience is advantageous
  • Good knowledge of Microsoft Office
  • Strong English communication skills
  • Good navigation skills
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Good time-management and problem-solving abilities
  • Professional and presentable appearance
  • Strong safety and compliance awareness
