PepsiCo South Africa is inviting suitably qualified candidates to apply for two (2) General Worker positions based in Worcester, Western Cape. About the Role

As a General Worker, you will assist with daily production activities, including sorting, grading, and packing dried fruit according to company quality standards. You will also help maintain food safety, support stock control, and ensure production targets are achieved while complying with all Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS) and Quality Food Safety (QFS) requirements.

Minimum Requirements

Applicants should meet the following requirements:

  • Matric (Grade 12) or an equivalent qualification
  • Previous experience in a food manufacturing or factory environment (advantageous)
  • Basic understanding of food safety and hygiene practices, including HACCP principles
  • Basic literacy and numeracy skills
  • Ability to perform manual labour
  • Physically fit and able to stand for extended periods
  • Ability to lift moderate weights
  • Willingness to work shifts, weekends, and overtime when required
  • Ability to follow standard operating procedures and instructions
  • Experience operating production equipment will be an added advantage

Key Responsibilities

The successful candidates will:

  • Sort, grade, and pack dried fruit according to quality standards
  • Support daily production processes
  • Maintain cleanliness and housekeeping of workstations
  • Receive, handle, and store raw materials and finished products
  • Identify and report product defects, contamination risks, or equipment faults
  • Meet daily production and output targets
  • Assist with stock counts and inventory control
  • Record production information for product traceability
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives
  • Follow company policies and standard operating procedures
  • Comply with Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS) standards
  • Comply with Quality Food Safety (QFS) standards
  • Perform additional duties as required
