Job Purpose

The Driver (Motorbike) is responsible for transporting products to customers safely and efficiently, ensuring accurate deliveries, handling payments where required, and maintaining company vehicles in line with Dis-Chem policies.

Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will:

  • Deliver customer orders safely and on time.
  • Ensure the correct products reach the correct customers.
  • Prioritise cold-chain deliveries using cooler boxes and cold packs.
  • Plan efficient delivery routes.
  • Return promptly after each delivery to maximise vehicle availability.
  • Secure products during transportation to prevent damage.
  • Handle fragile and hazardous products with care.
  • Obtain customer signatures on delivery documentation.
  • Verify invoices and delivery records.
  • Process cash and EFT payments where applicable.
  • Keep accurate vehicle logbooks.
  • Inspect and maintain the cleanliness and roadworthiness of company vehicles.
  • Report vehicle defects, accidents, and incidents.
  • Comply with the National Road Traffic Act and company vehicle policies.
  • Deliver professional and friendly customer service.
  • Report customer feedback, complaints, and compliments to management.

Minimum Requirements

Applicants must have:

  • Grade 12 (Matric).
  • A valid motorcycle driver’s licence.
  • A valid car driver’s licence.
  • Willingness to work retail hours and shifts.

Advantageous

  • Previous delivery driving experience in a similar role.
  • Ability to communicate in more than one language.
