Job Purpose (Admin Assistant)

The successful candidate will provide high-level administrative support by managing correspondence, preparing reports and meeting documentation, coordinating travel arrangements, scheduling meetings, and ensuring the smooth day-to-day operation of the department.

Key Responsibilities

The successful applicant will:

  • Receive, record, and manage incoming and outgoing correspondence.
  • Prepare and distribute meeting minutes, presentations, and office communications.
  • Perform general office administration duties.
  • Coordinate staff meetings, workshops, and logistical arrangements.
  • Arrange accommodation and travel in accordance with SITA travel policies.
  • Maintain accurate records and filing systems.
  • Support the department with administrative and clerical functions.
  • Assist with information requests and report preparation.

Minimum Requirements

Applicants must have:

  • Grade 12 (NQF Level 4).
  • A relevant recognised certificate or short course (less than one year) at NQF Level 4, depending on operational requirements.
  • 1–2 years’ relevant administrative experience.

Advantageous Qualification

  • Microsoft Office Certification.

Knowledge and Skills

Candidates should demonstrate knowledge of:

  • Office administration and office management.
  • Records management principles.
  • Computer literacy and Microsoft Office.
  • Basic bookkeeping principles.
  • Business writing.
