Cleaner Responsibilities
The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining a clean, safe and hygienic environment throughout the Dis-Chem Head Office.
Duties include:
- Maintain high standards of cleanliness throughout offices and communal areas.
- Clean and maintain the canteen and restrooms.
- Ensure cleaning products and supplies are available when required.
- Remain available during operating hours to attend to cleaning requirements.
- Vacuum meeting and training rooms daily according to standard procedures.
- Vacuum other carpeted areas weekly.
- Dust desks, chairs, telephones, shelves, photocopiers and other office equipment.
- Dispose of refuse responsibly after checking that no valuable items or products are included.
- Follow health and safety requirements when performing cleaning duties.
- Store cleaning equipment safely when not in use.
- Display wet-floor signs when cleaning floors.
- Maintain a professional and friendly approach when interacting with staff and visitors.
- Assist customers and visitors with basic directions when required.
- Communicate clearly and professionally with employees and guests.
- Report minor problems to the team leader where necessary.
- Ensure kitchens and bathrooms are adequately stocked and cleaned to Dis-Chem standards.
- Report damaged or malfunctioning equipment, including doors, locks, taps, lights and switches.
