GrandWest Casino and Entertainment World is seeking a dedicated Warehouse Assistant to support its warehouse operations and ensure efficient stock distribution across the complex.
Job Purpose
The Warehouse Assistant will be responsible for receiving, storing, moving, and transferring stock between the warehouse and various outlets within the GrandWest complex. The successful candidate will help maintain accurate stock levels while ensuring compliance with company procedures and safety standards.
Key Responsibilities
The successful candidate will:
- Collect picking lists from the Stock Controller.
- Pick and issue stock according to standard operating procedures (SOPs).
- Pack incoming stock and assist with stock rotation using the First Expired, First Out (FEFO) principle.
- Transfer stock between the warehouse and multiple outlets.
- Store stock safely and according to company standards.
- Maintain clean storage areas and warehouse equipment.
- Participate in monthly stock takes and recounts when required.
- Report obsolete or damaged stock.
- Ensure sufficient stock availability for operational requirements.
Minimum Requirements
Applicants must have:
- Grade 10 or equivalent qualification.
- Ability to perform physical work.
- Ability to stand for extended periods.
- Ability to lift and move heavy stock safely.
Required Knowledge and Skills
Successful candidates should possess:
- Basic product knowledge.
- Understanding of stock control procedures.
- Knowledge of SHE (Safety, Health and Environment) requirements.
- Basic numerical skills.
- Good written and verbal English communication skills.
- Basic Microsoft Office proficiency.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Ability to follow instructions accurately.
Working Conditions
The role requires candidates to:
- Perform physically demanding work.
- Move stock between the warehouse and multiple outlets.
- Stand and walk for long periods.
- Handle heavy stock safely.
