Job Purpose

The Shop Assistant / Cashier is responsible for delivering excellent customer service, efficiently processing transactions at the point of sale (POS), promoting the Clicks ClubCard programme, maintaining merchandising standards, and ensuring customers enjoy a positive shopping experience.

Minimum Requirements

Essential

  • Grade 12 (Matric)

Desirable

  • Mathematics – 50% at Grade 12 level
  • English – 50% at Grade 12 level
  • Experience in a customer-facing role within a retail or FMCG environment

Key Responsibilities

The successful candidates will:

  • Process customer purchases accurately using the Point of Sale (POS) system
  • Handle cash and card transactions safely and accurately
  • Promote and register customers for the Clicks ClubCard programme
  • Inform customers about current promotions and special offers
  • Deliver friendly, professional, and efficient customer service
  • Maintain merchandising displays according to company standards
  • Perform general housekeeping duties within the store
  • Maintain knowledge of products, promotions, and store events
  • Support the achievement of sales and customer service targets
  • Represent the Clicks brand professionally at all times
