About the Role (Shop Assistant / Cashier)

As a Shop Assistant / Cashier, you will help create a positive shopping experience by providing friendly customer service, operating the point-of-sale system accurately, promoting the Clicks ClubCard programme, and ensuring the store is clean, organised, and fully merchandised.

You will also play an important role in supporting Clicks’ vision of being South Africa’s first choice health and beauty retailer.

Key Responsibilities

Successful candidates will:

  • Deliver excellent customer service at all times.
  • Operate the point-of-sale (POS) system efficiently.
  • Scan merchandise accurately and process customer payments.
  • Handle cash securely and follow cash management procedures.
  • Promote and register customers for the Clicks ClubCard programme.
  • Inform customers about promotions and special offers.
  • Maintain merchandising standards and attractive product displays.
  • Keep the store clean and well-organised.
  • Stay informed about products, promotions, and store events.
  • Support the achievement of sales and customer service targets.

Minimum Requirements

Essential

  • Grade 12 (Matric).

Desirable

  • Mathematics with at least 50% in Grade 12.
  • English with at least 50% in Grade 12.
  • Previous customer-facing experience in a retail or FMCG environment.
