About the Apprenticeship
The apprenticeship is designed to train successful candidates in all aspects of golf course maintenance. Learners will gain practical experience maintaining championship golf courses while developing valuable skills in turf management and groundskeeping.
Key Responsibilities
As a Golf Course Maintenance Apprentice, you will:
- Assist with hand raking and maintenance of bunkers.
- Operate ride-on and walk-behind grass-cutting equipment.
- Trim grass verges and hedges.
- Roll putting greens.
- Perform hand watering and other turf maintenance practices.
- Operate equipment such as:
- Weed eaters
- Flymo mowers
- Blowers
- Push mowers
- Carry out sod installation and repair work.
- Perform additional maintenance duties as assigned.
Minimum Requirements
Applicants must have:
- Grade 10 or an equivalent qualification.
- General work experience.
- No criminal record.
Advantageous
- A valid driver’s licence.
