EWSETA Electrical Engineering Graduate Internship Programme 2026
The Energy and Water Sector Education and Training Authority (EWSETA), in partnership with City Power Johannesburg (SOC) Ltd, is offering an exciting 24-month Electrical Engineering Graduate Internship Programme for unemployed South African graduates.
The programme is designed to provide structured workplace learning, practical industry exposure, and professional development to graduates who wish to build successful careers in the electrical engineering and energy sector.
A total of 120 internship opportunities are available for qualified graduates.

Minimum Requirements
To qualify, applicants must:
- Be a South African citizen with a valid South African Identity Document.
- Be unemployed at the time of application.
- Be younger than 35 years.
- Hold an NQF Level 7 or NQF Level 8 qualification in Electrical Engineering from a recognised and accredited higher education institution.
- Be academically eligible for professional registration with the relevant statutory professional council.

- Certified copies of qualifications (certified within the last three months).
- Certified academic transcripts (certified within the last three months).
Employment Equity
Appointments will be made in accordance with the Employment Equity Act and City Power Johannesburg’s Employment Equity Plan.
Preference will be given to suitably qualified candidates from designated groups.
Unemployed youth residing within the City of Johannesburg are strongly encouraged to apply.
