Duty Driver Job Vacancy in Durban

Fidelity Services Group is looking for a Duty Driver to join its Durban branch. Reporting to the Operations Manager, the successful candidate will be responsible for safely transporting night-shift employees to and from work.

This role is suited to a responsible, reliable and safety-conscious driver who can work at night and operate in high-risk areas.

Key Responsibilities

The Duty Driver will be responsible for:

  • Safely transporting employees to and from work.
  • Taking full responsibility for the company vehicle and passengers.
  • Parking company vehicles safely.
  • Reporting delays to the Operations Manager immediately.
  • Maintaining radio contact with controllers.
  • Identifying and taking preventative action against suspicious activity.
  • Conducting vehicle audits and completing required checklists.
  • Driving responsibly and complying with road and company safety requirements.
  • Reporting accidents, incidents and other operational issues.
  • Completing all required vehicle and incident documentation.
  • Supporting incident prevention and maintaining a high level of security awareness.

Minimum Requirements

Applicants must have:

  • A clear criminal record.
  • A valid Code 8 driver’s licence or higher.
  • A valid Professional Driving Permit (PDP).
  • At least 2 years’ driving experience.
  • PSIRA accreditation with a minimum Grade C qualification is advantageous.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • The ability to work under pressure.
  • The ability and willingness to work night shifts.
  • Willingness to drive in high-risk areas.
