Driver Job Overview

Millennium Foods, a division of Libstar Operations, is looking for an experienced Driver to join its team in Killarney Gardens, Cape Town.

The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering company products to customers safely, promptly and professionally while maintaining the assigned delivery vehicle.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver products to customers using assigned routes and schedules.
  • Load, unload, prepare and inspect delivery vehicles.
  • Operate a light/heavy delivery vehicle requiring a Code 10 licence.
  • Check stock against delivery notes and ensure accurate deliveries.
  • Obtain customer signatures on delivery notes.
  • Represent the company professionally at customer premises.
  • Report delivery issues, shortages and other concerns to the Dispatch Supervisor.
  • Complete daily vehicle inspections, including oil and tyre checks.
  • Keep vehicles clean and in good working condition.
  • Record vehicle defects and mechanical problems.
  • Maintain daily, weekly and monthly travel logs.
  • Monitor vehicle licence renewal requirements.
  • Follow instructions regarding minor vehicle repairs.
  • Follow customer protocols, PPE requirements and safety procedures.

Requirements

To qualify for the Driver position, applicants must have:

  • Senior Certificate / Grade 12
  • Valid C1 driver’s licence
  • Valid Professional Driving Permit (PDP)
  • At least 3 years’ proven delivery driving experience
  • Good driving record with no traffic violations
  • Knowledge of Occupational Health and Safety and PPE
  • Basic food safety knowledge
  • Ability to follow customer protocols
