Minimum Requirements

Applicants applying for Cleaner must have one of the following:

  • ABET (Adult Education and Training)

Cleaner Duties and Responsibilities

The successful candidates will be responsible for maintaining a clean, hygienic and safe hospital environment. Duties include:

  • Cleaning hospital wards, offices, corridors and boardrooms.
  • Dusting, cleaning and waxing furniture.
  • Sweeping, scrubbing and waxing floors.
  • Vacuuming and shampooing floors.
  • Cleaning walls, windows and doors.
  • Emptying and cleaning dustbins.
  • Collecting and removing waste paper.
  • Cleaning kitchens and basins.
  • Cleaning and maintaining restrooms.
  • Refilling liquid hand soap, toilet paper and hand towels.
  • Cleaning and refreshing toilets.
  • Washing and arranging refreshments for meetings.
  • Filing and arranging water bottles.
  • Maintaining cleaning materials and equipment.
  • Reporting broken cleaning machines and equipment.
  • Filling and refilling cleaning trolleys.
  • Following Ideal Hospital guidelines.
  • Operating various cleaning machines and equipment.
  • Performing other lawful duties assigned by the supervisor that relate to the job.

Skills and Competencies

Applicants should have:

  • Good communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Knowledge of cleaning procedures.
  • Ability to operate cleaning machines.
  • Ability to use and maintain cleaning equipment.
  • Good hygiene awareness.
