Job Purpose

The Cashier is responsible for processing customer transactions accurately while delivering excellent customer service. The successful candidate will also assist with food preparation, serving meals and beverages, maintaining hygiene standards, and supporting stock control within the catering unit.

Key Responsibilities

As a Cashier, your duties will include:

  • Process cash and card payments accurately.
  • Deliver excellent customer service at the point of sale.
  • Prepare and serve meals, sandwiches, beverages, and fast foods.
  • Maintain high standards of food hygiene and cleanliness.
  • Ensure all cash handling procedures are followed.
  • Assist with stock takes and inventory control.
  • Help prevent stock losses by following company procedures.
  • Maintain clean and organised workstations.
  • Build positive relationships with customers.
  • Ensure products are presented attractively.
  • Support daily catering operations as required.

Minimum Requirements

Applicants should have:

  • Grade 12 (Matric).
  • Previous experience in catering or food service is an advantage but not essential.
  • Previous cash handling experience will be beneficial.

  • Ability to work in a busy environment.
