About the Artisan HVAC Job

Bidvest Facilities Management is looking for an experienced Artisan HVAC to join its team in George, Western Cape.

The successful candidate will be responsible for carrying out planned, preventative and emergency maintenance on air-conditioning, refrigeration, ventilation and water reticulation equipment. The role supports the company’s maintenance strategy while ensuring high-quality service to clients.

Key Responsibilities

The Artisan HVAC will be responsible for:

  • Implementing equipment service specifications according to company and client requirements.
  • Installing and commissioning air-conditioning and water reticulation equipment.
  • Performing scheduled preventative maintenance.
  • Responding to emergency faults and carrying out repairs.
  • Inspecting facilities and air-conditioning equipment on site.
  • Identifying potential risks and reporting them for corrective action.
  • Ensuring maintenance work complies with relevant legislation, SLAs and job plans.
  • Completing field requests accurately and within required timeframes.
  • Maintaining high standards of workmanship and service quality.
  • Providing regular feedback to the Supervisor and client on the restoration of operations.
  • Maintaining air-conditioning, refrigeration, ventilation and water reticulation systems.

Minimum Requirements

Applicants for the Artisan HVAC position must have:

  • Grade 12 / Matric.
  • N3–N6 qualification in Mechanical Engineering.
  • HVAC Trade Test in Air-Conditioning and Refrigeration.
  • At least 5 years’ relevant experience as an artisan.
  • At least 5 years’ experience in the HVAC trade.
  • At least 5 years’ experience maintaining air-conditioning, refrigeration and ventilation equipment.
  • Experience with water reticulation systems.
  • Experience with digital control systems.
  • Valid South African driver’s licence.
  • Intermediate proficiency in MS Word, MS Excel and MS Outlook.
  • Knowledge of the Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) Act.
