Artisan Electrician Requirements

Applicants must meet the following requirements:

  • Grade 12 or an equivalent NQF Level 4 qualification.
  • Tradesman Certificate as an Electrician.
  • 1–3 years of relevant experience as an Electrician.
  • Computer literacy.
  • Valid Code B driver’s licence.
  • Candidates may be required to provide proof of the applicable NQF level for their qualifications.

Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Controlling maintenance and construction work.
  • Ensuring maintenance procedures comply with statutory requirements.
  • Conducting electrical inspections in accordance with SABS 0142 wiring regulations.
  • Performing refrigeration inspections where required.
  • Promoting safe working conditions in City of Ekurhuleni buildings.
  • Ensuring compliance with Occupational Health and Safety requirements.
  • Enforcing relevant safety regulations to protect building occupants.
  • Performing administrative and general duties to support productivity and compliance.
  • Ensuring maintenance activities comply with Council policies and procedures.
