Code 10 Driver Job Overview

Voltex is looking for a qualified and experienced Code 10 Driver to join its Kathu branch. The successful candidate will be responsible for the safe and efficient delivery and collection of stock from customers.

The role requires a reliable driver with strong customer service skills, knowledge of warehouse processes and a commitment to vehicle safety.

Key Responsibilities

  • Complete vehicle inspection sheets before every journey.
  • Ensure the delivery vehicle is roadworthy and safe to operate.
  • Report vehicle defects and accidents immediately to the Branch Manager.
  • Plan and navigate delivery routes efficiently using GPS technology.
  • Load stock together with the Dispatch Clerk.
  • Check that loaded stock corresponds with delivery notes.
  • Obtain customer signatures as proof of delivery.
  • Submit delivery documentation and required reports accurately.
  • Communicate professionally with customers and resolve delivery-related complaints.
  • Keep the delivery vehicle clean and well maintained.
  • Monitor vehicle servicing requirements and inform the Operations Manager when servicing is due.
  • Report delivery-related problems to the Branch Manager.
  • Comply with all applicable safety and security regulations.

Requirements

Applicants must have:

  • Matric / Grade 12 or equivalent
  • Valid Code 10 driver’s licence
  • Valid Professional Driving Permit (PDP)
  • At least 3 years’ driving experience
  • Familiarity with GPS devices and navigation technology
  • Knowledge of warehouse processes
  • Knowledge of relevant safety standards and protective clothing
  • Good communication and customer service skills
  • Ability to handle delivery documentation accurately
