Purpose of the Role

The General Maintenance Worker is responsible for ensuring that warehouse facilities and infrastructure remain safe, compliant, and fully operational. The successful candidate will perform routine inspections, preventative maintenance, and emergency repairs while ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations.

Key Responsibilities

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Conducting scheduled maintenance inspections according to Preventative Planned Maintenance (PPM) requirements
  • Performing emergency maintenance and repairs when required
  • Inspecting warehouse racking systems
  • Maintaining facility infrastructure
  • Inspecting and maintaining sprinkler systems
  • Monitoring generator maintenance and servicing
  • Ensuring compliance with the Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) Act
  • Reporting maintenance issues to management
  • Keeping maintenance tools and the storeroom clean, organised, and secure
  • Carrying out preventative maintenance to minimise equipment downtime

Minimum Requirements

Applicants should have:

  • Grade 12 (Matric)
  • At least 3 years of warehouse experience
  • Good understanding of warehouse maintenance practices
  • Ability to communicate effectively in English
