Job Purpose (Cleaner)
The Cleaner will maintain a clean, hygienic, and safe office environment throughout the Head Office by performing daily cleaning duties, supporting workplace hygiene, and ensuring all communal areas meet Dis-Chem’s cleaning standards.
Key Responsibilities
Cleaning and Hygiene
- Clean offices, communal areas, meeting rooms, and training rooms daily.
- Maintain a high standard of cleanliness throughout the Head Office.
- Develop and follow daily cleaning routines.
- Vacuum carpeted areas according to standard operating procedures.
- Dust office furniture, shelves, telephones, photocopiers, and equipment.
- Ensure kitchens and restrooms remain clean and fully stocked.
- Clean spills and attend to cleaning requests during operational hours.
- Dispose of refuse safely after checking for valuable items.
Health and Safety
- Follow all health and safety regulations while performing duties.
- Display wet floor warning signs during cleaning.
- Store cleaning equipment safely when not in use.
- Report faulty equipment, lights, taps, locks, doors, and other maintenance issues to the team leader.
Customer Service
- Provide friendly and professional assistance to staff and visitors.
- Direct visitors to the correct office or department.
- Communicate clearly and courteously.
- Resolve minor issues or escalate them to the team leader when necessary.
Minimum Requirements
Essential
- Grade 12 (Matric)
