Requirements
Essential:
- Grade 12 / Matric
- Up to 6 months’ retail experience
- Computer literate, including MS Office
- Willing and able to work retail hours
Advantageous:
- At least 1 year of retail experience
- Knowledge of merchandising and FMCG
- Product and category knowledge
- Bilingual communication skills
Key Responsibilities
- Restock merchandise to maximise sales.
- Pack and store stock correctly and on time.
- Check shelves for expired or damaged products.
- Rotate stock using the FIFO principle.
- Report low, damaged and expired stock to management.
- Assist with stock counts and stocktaking.
- Follow store layouts and planograms.
- Maintain neat, fully stocked and correctly labelled shelves.
- Build and maintain merchandising displays.
- Assist with loading and off-loading stock.
- Assist customers with product and stock queries.
- Keep the shop floor and storeroom clean and organised.
- Report price discrepancies and suspicious behaviour.
- Follow Dis-Chem policies, procedures and health and safety requirements.
