Job Purpose

Voltex is looking for a Code 10 Driver to join its George branch. The successful candidate will be responsible for the safe and efficient delivery and collection of stock from customers while maintaining accurate delivery records and complying with safety requirements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Complete vehicle inspection sheets before every journey.
  • Ensure the delivery vehicle is roadworthy.
  • Report vehicle defects and accidents to the Branch Manager immediately.
  • Plan routes and navigate to destinations efficiently.
  • Load stock with the Dispatch Clerk according to the log sheet.
  • Check that stock matches the delivery note.
  • Submit delivery documentation and reports.
  • Obtain customer signatures as proof of delivery.
  • Communicate professionally with customers and resolve delivery-related complaints.
  • Keep the delivery vehicle clean.
  • Monitor vehicle servicing requirements and notify the Operations Manager.
  • Report delivery problems to the Branch Manager.
  • Follow all safety and security regulations.

Requirements

Applicants must have:

  • Matric or equivalent.
  • Valid Code 10 driver’s licence.
  • Valid Professional Driving Permit (PDP).
  • At least 3 years’ driving experience.
  • Familiarity with GPS technology and navigation devices.
  • Knowledge of warehouse processes.
  • Knowledge of relevant safety standards and protective clothing.
