Job Purpose (Picker and Packer)

The primary purpose of this role is to ensure the accurate picking and packing of customer orders while supporting warehouse operations, inventory management, dispatch activities, and workplace safety.

Key Responsibilities

Picking

  • Pick stock accurately according to picking slips.
  • Verify that the correct products and quantities are selected.
  • Complete picking documentation accurately.
  • Record weights, dimensions, dates, and signatures where required.
  • Report stock shortages, quantity differences, colour variations, or any other discrepancies.

Packing

  • Pack products correctly into designated storage areas.
  • Wrap products securely to prevent damage during transportation.
  • Prepare products for dispatch and delivery.
  • Pack and load products according to company standards.

Warehouse Operations

  • Keep warehouse shelves and storage areas clean and organised.
  • Load and unload products from delivery vehicles and containers.
  • Assist with receiving stock.
  • Conduct stock counts and inventory checks.
  • Perform general warehouse cleaning, including:
    • Sweeping floors
    • Dusting surfaces
    • Removing debris
  • Assist with other warehouse duties when required.
  • Accompany drivers to assist with loading and offloading deliveries.
  • Operate company vehicles where required and if in possession of a valid driver’s licence.
  • Maintain delivery records and ensure documentation is completed accurately.
  • Deliver excellent customer service.

Health, Safety and Compliance

  • Follow all Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) regulations.
  • Wear the required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
  • Maintain excellent housekeeping standards.
  • Report hazards, incidents, and non-conformances.
  • Comply with company policies and Integrated Management System (IMS) procedures.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives.

Minimum Requirements

Applicants must have:

  • Grade 12 (Matric) or equivalent qualification.
  • At least one year of experience in a similar warehouse or logistics position.
