Purpose of the Role (Stock Counter)

The Stock Counter will play an important role in ensuring the Clover Café, Clover Shop, and other business areas remain fully stocked. The successful candidate will manage stock ordering, receiving, inventory counts, stock movements, documentation, and supplier communication while ensuring accurate inventory records.

Key Responsibilities

Stock Control and Inventory Management

  • Receive stock deliveries and verify items against purchase orders.
  • Track inventory movements and ensure correct stock storage.
  • Perform regular stock counts, cycle counts, and spot checks.
  • Remove damaged, expired, recalled, or short-dated products.
  • Report inventory shortages and stock discrepancies.
  • Maintain quality and safety standards for temperature-sensitive products.

Stock Distribution

  • Distribute stock to the Clover Café, Clover Shop, and building kitchens.
  • Issue stock according to company procedures.
  • Ensure staff requesting stock follow established processes.
  • Pick stock for inventory investigations and stock queries.

Administration and Reporting

  • Submit invoices for processing.
  • Maintain accurate stock records and delivery documentation.
  • Process returns for expired, recalled, or damaged products.
  • Complete stock control administrative duties.

Discrepancy Resolution

  • Investigate stock variances.
  • Resolve inventory inaccuracies with supervisors and purchasing teams.
  • Escalate unresolved stock discrepancies where necessary.

Supplier Liaison

  • Communicate with suppliers regarding delivery or stock issues.
  • Place stock orders for the Clover Café and Clover Shop.
  • Monitor supplier performance to ensure timely deliveries.

Minimum Requirements

Applicants must have:

  • Grade 12 (National Certificate)
