Purpose of the Role (Lost Property Administrator)

The Lost Property Administrator will manage the airline’s lost property process by collecting, documenting, storing, tracking, and returning lost items to passengers. The successful candidate will also provide administrative support, maintain accurate records, coordinate with airport teams, and assist customers with lost property enquiries.

Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will:

  • Collect lost property from FlySafair stations.
  • Sort and organize lost items according to company procedures.
  • Return identified lost items to airports for passenger collection.
  • Arrange courier deliveries of lost property where required.
  • Track and identify owners of passports and identification documents.
  • Record and categorize all lost property accurately.
  • Maintain detailed logs and inventory records.
  • Handle valuable and sensitive items according to company procedures.
  • Keep the lost property storage area clean and organized.
  • Coordinate with airport authorities, security personnel, and relevant departments.
  • Prepare monthly lost property reports.
  • Coordinate charity drives with the Customer Care Centre Manager.
  • Assist the Call Centre and baggage handling teams with customer enquiries.
  • Provide passengers with information regarding lost property procedures.
  • Train staff at other FlySafair stations on lost property processes when required.

Minimum Requirements

Applicants must have:

  • Grade 12 (Matric) or equivalent
  • 1–3 years of experience in:
    • Warehousing
    • Contact Centre
    • Administrative or related environment
  • Valid driver’s licence
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.)
  • Basic understanding of warehouse operations
  • Good office administration skills
