Job Purpose (Lawnmower Operator)
The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining public open spaces by cutting grass in developed and undeveloped areas, parks, traffic islands, sports fields, and recreational facilities. The role also includes assisting with general environmental maintenance to ensure clean, safe, and attractive municipal spaces.
Minimum Requirements
Applicants must have:
- Basic literacy
- Ability to perform the required duties
- A Lawnmower Operator’s Course
- Relevant experience in a professional gardening services environment
- Good physical fitness and overall health
- Ability to carry and operate lawn maintenance equipment and machinery
- Willingness and ability to work shifts
- Willingness to undergo a criminal record check and fingerprint verification by the Tshwane Metro Police Department
Key Responsibilities
The successful candidate will:
- Cut grass in developed and undeveloped areas
- Maintain parks, traffic islands, sports fields, and recreational facilities
- Operate lawnmowers and brush cutters safely and efficiently
- Perform general maintenance of public open spaces
- Help improve the appearance and cleanliness of municipal facilities
- Follow the Occupational Health and Safety Act, 1993 (Act 85 of 1993)
