About the Role

The Driver Messenger will provide reliable transport and logistics support by delivering and collecting mail, goods, and official documents. The role also involves ensuring council vehicles are used responsibly, supporting inventory operations, and maintaining high standards of customer service.

Minimum Requirements

Applicants must have:

  • Grade 10 or an equivalent NQF Level 2 qualification
  • Valid Code 8 driver’s licence
  • Valid Professional Driving Permit (PrDP)
  • 1–2 years’ experience in a corporate or supply chain environment

Note: Candidates may be requested to provide proof of the NQF level of their qualifications.

Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will:

  • Deliver and collect mail, documents, and goods within the assigned area
  • Perform logistics and operational delivery processes efficiently
  • Ensure deliveries comply with council policies and procedures
  • Apply governance and risk management practices when operating council vehicles
  • Prevent the misuse of council vehicles
