The City of Ekurhuleni is inviting suitably qualified candidates to apply for the position of Security Clerk: Safety & Security – IRPTN.
The successful candidate will be responsible for protecting municipal facilities and property while providing assistance, information and direction to members of the public and municipal employees using bus station buildings.

Minimum Requirements
Applicants must meet the following requirements:
- Grade 12.
- NQF Level 5 qualification in Security or Management Assistance.
- PSIRA registration – Grade C.
- At least 1 year of experience in a similar environment.

Security Clerk Responsibilities
The successful candidate will perform duties including:
Security and Protection
- Protect municipal and government properties against unauthorised use.
- Conduct regular patrols of interior and exterior areas.
- Establish and maintain effective security controls.
- Monitor security conditions at bus station buildings.
- Monitor and respond to technical security alarms.
- Conduct casual surveillance of members of the public entering station buildings.
- Identify and respond appropriately to suspicious or irrational behaviour.
Public Assistance
- Provide assistance and direction to members of the public.
- Respond to public queries and complaints.
- Attend to telephone enquiries.
- Refer enquiries to the appropriate stakeholders.
- Provide assistance to municipal employees and members of the public when required.
Law Enforcement and Emergency Support
- Maintain good working relationships with local law enforcement agencies.
- Issue parking enforcement control tickets when required.
- Administer first aid to members of the public or municipal employees who are injured on the premises.
- Report and respond to security-related incidents appropriately.
