The Council for Quality Assurance in General and Further Education and Training (Umalusi) is inviting suitably qualified candidates to apply for a Receptionist position in Pretoria.
Umalusi is a statutory Quality Council responsible for quality assurance in General and Further Education and Training.
This is a permanent position within the Public Relations and Communications (PR&Comms) department.

Receptionist Duties
The successful candidate will provide professional reception and telephone services and assist the Public Relations and Communications unit.
Key duties include:
- Answering, screening and transferring telephone calls.
- Taking and relaying messages.
- Providing information to callers.
- Resolving telephone queries where possible.
- Handling queries from members of the public and stakeholders.
- Receiving walk-in visitors and clients.
- Confirming visitors’ reasons for appointments or visits.
- Contacting relevant employees to accompany visitors to the appropriate venue or office.
- Receiving mail and parcels and signing for deliveries where required.
- Liaising with the Records Unit and employees regarding parcel collection.
- Preparing weekly reports.
- Assisting with the printing of meeting schedules.
- Keeping the reception area clean, professional and tidy.
- Performing additional duties assigned by the supervisor.
Umalusi Receptionist Requirements
Applicants must have one of the following:
- National Certificate (Vocational)
- National Senior Certificate (Grade 12)
- Senior Certificate
- Equivalent NQF Level 4 qualification
Required Skills
Candidates should have:
- Strong computer skills.
- Knowledge of Batho Pele principles.
- Knowledge of basic office management.
- Good telephone etiquette.
- Ability to operate and manage a telephone/calling system.
- Experience working on a switchboard.
- Knowledge of the education and training environment.
- Understanding of NQF levels.
Advantageous Experience
The following will be an advantage:
- At least 1 year of relevant experience as a receptionist or call centre agent.
- A customer service or call centre-related qualification.
