About the Warehouse Assistant Job

The Warehouse Assistant will report to the Warehouse Manager and support the efficient movement, storage, packing and control of inventory and materials.

The role requires attention to detail, good organisation and the ability to work shifts in a busy warehouse environment.

Warehouse Assistant Responsibilities

The successful candidates will be responsible for:

  • Moving inventory and materials between facilities.
  • Processing inventory for delivery.
  • Sorting, organising and storing stock correctly.
  • Packaging and labelling items accurately.
  • Reporting damaged or missing inventory.
  • Stacking and organising bulk items.
  • Updating inventory logs and documentation.
  • Performing routine warehouse cleaning.
  • Monitoring inventory control processes.
  • Conducting warehouse inventory controls and maintaining quality standards.
  • Handling delicate and sensitive aviation products carefully.
  • Operating warehouse tools and equipment according to SOPs.
  • Following company procedures, rules and quality standards.
  • Performing daily cycle counts.
  • Working with the Inventory Clerk to investigate and resolve stock discrepancies.

Warehouse Assistant Requirements

Applicants must have:

  • Grade 12 / Matric or equivalent.
  • 1–2 years’ administration experience in a mid-sized organisation.
  • Knowledge of warehousing standards.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to multitask.
  • Willingness to work overtime when required.
  • Willingness and ability to work 24-hour shifts.

Advantageous Qualifications

The following will be an advantage:

  • Warehouse training certification.
  • Dangerous Goods certification.
  • Aircraft spares packing certification.
  • Knowledge of an ERP system.
