Airtime Management Executive Job Purpose

The SABC is recruiting 17 Airtime Management Executives to manage airtime inventory, advertising bookings, scheduling and campaign fulfilment across SABC radio platforms.

The successful candidates will ensure that advertising campaigns are accurately processed, scheduled and delivered according to client requirements, programming schedules and SABC policies.

Key Responsibilities

  • Process airtime requests from receipt through to on-air transmission.
  • Create and maintain campaign, product and industry code records.
  • Manage advertising bookings and schedule spots accurately.
  • Resolve scheduling conflicts and negotiate alternative placements where necessary.
  • Communicate programme changes, cancellations and non-broadcast spots.
  • Check, finalise and transmit broadcast logs within deadlines.
  • Prepare campaign confirmations and availability reports.
  • Coordinate live reads, sponsorships and special instructions.
  • Process late revisions and update affected stakeholders.
  • Provide campaign information to Ratings Analysts and internal teams.
  • Respond to client and internal queries professionally.
  • Monitor limbo spots, re-pricing, cancellations and compensation adjustments.
  • Process added-value, goodwill and compensation bookings.
  • Work with Deals and Finance teams to ensure correct deal application and revenue integrity.
  • Monitor airtime utilisation and support inventory optimisation.

Governance and Compliance

The Airtime Management Executive will also:

  • Follow SABC sales policies, SOPs and internal controls.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable regulatory and governance requirements.
  • Validate credit and debit notes.
  • Maintain accurate campaign records and documentation.
  • Support audit and compliance processes.
  • Promote accountability and operational discipline.

Minimum Qualifications

Applicants should have:

  • A relevant qualification at NQF Level 4/5 or higher.

Required Experience

  • At least 3 years’ experience in airtime management, sales administration, broadcast traffic or a related scheduling environment.

Skills and Knowledge

Candidates should have:

  • Experience with broadcast management systems.
  • Knowledge of media sales fulfilment in television or radio.
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Strong administrative and organisational skills.
  • Excellent communication and coordination abilities.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and tight deadlines.
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
  • Strong customer service and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to identify anomalies, trends and revenue risks.
  • Ability to work with confidential financial information.
  • Data analysis capabilities.
