Job Purpose (Driver)

The Driver will be responsible for the safe operation of company vehicles used in Cash in Transit (CIT) services. The role includes protecting company assets, ensuring vehicle roadworthiness, complying with operational procedures, and delivering secure transport services to clients.

Key Responsibilities

Vehicle and Asset Management

  • Conduct daily vehicle inspections before and after each shift.
  • Ensure all vehicle systems and security equipment are in working order.
  • Complete daily driver checklists.
  • Report vehicle faults or defects immediately.
  • Maintain the cleanliness and readiness of company vehicles.

Cash in Transit Operations

  • Transport cash and valuables safely according to company procedures.
  • Protect company vehicles, equipment, crew members, and client assets.
  • Follow approved operational routes and schedules.
  • Ensure all operational equipment is available before departure.
  • Maintain radio communication with the Control Room.

Driving Duties

  • Drive responsibly in accordance with the National Road Traffic Act.
  • Follow company driving procedures and operational instructions.
  • Report suspicious activities immediately.
  • Respond appropriately during emergencies and security incidents.
  • Report accidents, robberies, and vehicle breakdowns without delay.

Health and Safety

  • Promote a safety-first culture.
  • Comply with the company’s Zero Tolerance Zero Harm policy.
  • Wear all required protective equipment, including bulletproof vests.
  • Participate in safety meetings and refresher training.
  • Follow all workplace health and safety procedures.

Minimum Requirements

Applicants must have:

  • Grade 12 (Matric) or equivalent qualification.
  • Valid South African Identity Document.
  • Valid Code 10 Driver’s Licence with no endorsements.
  • Valid Professional Driving Permit (PDP).
  • Valid PSIRA Registration (Grade C and Cash in Transit).
  • Cash in Transit (CIT) Qualification.
  • Valid Firearm Competency Certificate for business purposes.
  • Medical Fitness Certificate for firearm use.
