Job Purpose

The General Worker will support daily production and warehouse operations by performing manual labour, maintaining cleanliness, assisting with product handling, and ensuring compliance with safety and food quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will:

  • Perform manual labour, including lifting, carrying, and moving loads of up to 25kg.
  • Stack and palletise finished products correctly.
  • Inspect products and materials for defects.
  • Complete quality control documentation when required.
  • Maintain a clean, organised, and safe work environment.
  • Perform general housekeeping duties.
  • Follow all workplace health and safety procedures.
  • Wear and maintain the required personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Identify and report workplace safety hazards.
  • Assist in resolving potential safety risks.
  • Comply with Tiger Brands’ food safety policies and procedures.
  • Support production activities as required by supervisors.

Minimum Requirements

Applicants must have:

  • Grade 12 (Matric) or National Senior Certificate.
  • Be medically and physically fit.
  • Be able to lift heavy items (up to 25kg).
  • Be comfortable standing for extended periods.
  • Be willing to work shifts, weekends, public holidays, and overtime when required.
  • Be able to work efficiently in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
