Job Purpose

The purpose of this role is to process, sort, count, and maintain hospital linen while ensuring quality standards, accurate record keeping, and compliance with health and safety procedures.

Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Counting and sorting hospital linen.
  • Recording linen quantities accurately according to standard procedures.
  • Processing linen in designated work areas.
  • Operating industrial laundry equipment safely and correctly.
  • Maintaining quality control of processed linen.
  • Ensuring linen is clean, dry, soft, stain-free, and professionally presented.
  • Managing linen stock and maintaining accurate records.
  • Updating the linen register book.
  • Maintaining good housekeeping standards.
  • Following health and safety procedures.
  • Assisting with waste disposal management.
  • Working closely with supervisors and line management.

Minimum Requirements

Applicants must have:

  • Grade 12 (Matric) certificate or equivalent.
  • Ability to read, write, and speak English.
