RCL FOODS General Worker – Fixed Term Contract (FTC)

RCL Foods is seeking a General Worker for a 3-month Fixed Term Contract based in Pretoria West, Gauteng. This role reports to the Transport Controller and is focused on ensuring smooth operations within the Beverages supply chain, including handling crates and loading/unloading stock at customer sites.

Minimum Requirements

  • Matric (Grade 12)
  • Ability to read and write
  • Computer literacy advantageous
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Knowledge of product handling, labelling, and storage practices
  • Basic math and warehouse management understanding
  • Ability to work independently and in a team
  • Understanding of safety, health, and environmental protocols

Duties & Responsibilities

Stock Handling & Crate Management

  • Load and off-load stock and crates at customer receiving points and production sites
  • Ensure correct stock delivery using invoices for verification
  • Separate clean from dirty crates and maintain crate washer water levels
  • Report any crates or pallet jack defects to line manager

Operational & Safety Compliance

  • Maintain workplace safety and follow established safety guidelines
  • Attend and participate in all company safety programs
  • Follow Good Manufacturing Practices, including use of PPE and confined space safety
  • Report any food safety or quality issues immediately

Housekeeping & Continuous Improvement

  • Ensure clean truck load bin floors and tidy working areas
  • Assist in identifying opportunities to improve operational processes
  • Track and report total crates washed per customer and damages

Flexibility & Shift Work

  • Work various shifts as required
  • May be required to accompany delivery vehicles or assist with crate washing depending on operational needs
