About the Claims Learnership
The learner will be trained to process and manage claims within delegated authority by:
- Ensuring claims validity
- Assessing liability
- Negotiating settlements
- Delivering excellent customer service
- Ensuring compliance with short-term insurance regulations
All claims management must align with regulatory frameworks and internal governance standards.
Minimum Requirements
Qualifications
- Matric (Grade 12)
Experience
- No prior experience required

Key Responsibilities
Administration & Claims Processing
- Register and load new claims
- Authorise claim payments
- Validate claims and supporting documentation
- Assess claims in line with policy cover
- Ensure correct calculation of claim quantum
- Maintain diary documents on IMS system
- Update reserves according to reserving policy
- Escalate complex claims to Supervisor
- Maintain accurate system notes
- Respond to customer queries professionally
Agency & Broker Liaison
- Negotiate settlement of claims
- Liaise with agents and brokers
- Provide regular progress updates to stakeholders
Ad Hoc Duties
- Perform reasonable tasks as requested by the Line Manager
