Join ARC-TSC as a Casual Workers (3-Month Contract)

The Agricultural Research Council’s Tropical & Subtropical Crops (ARC-TSC) division in Nelspruit is hiring Casual Workers (X5) for a three-month fixed-term contract. These roles support general orchard operations, field trial protection, and day-to-day agricultural maintenance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform general orchard tasks and routine orchard maintenance.
  • Carry out all manual tasks assigned by the supervisor.
  • Ensure field trials are protected from animal interference.
  • Use and maintain tools, equipment, and materials provided.
  • Follow all Occupational Health and Safety instructions.

Minimum Job Requirements

  • Grade 10 qualification.
  • Understanding of basic agricultural practices.
  • Basic knowledge of manual operation of farm equipment and machinery.
  • Good communication skills — written and verbal.
  • Understanding of health and safety procedures.
  • Willingness to work under adverse weather conditions.
