Job Details (Servest Handyman)

Servest is seeking a skilled and experienced Handyman to join the Facilities Management team stationed at St John’s College. The successful candidate will report directly to the Facilities Manager and play a key role in maintaining facility standards and ensuring smooth daily operations.

Minimum Requirements

  • Grade 12
  • A technical tertiary qualification (advantageous)
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience
  • Strong technical background with practical handyman training
  • Knowledge of maintenance environments
  • Experience in facilities management contracts
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Proven knowledge of contract performance

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Perform painting and surface preparation using various methods
  • Conduct general carpentry and steel work
  • Replace broken tiles as per TAL specifications
  • Carry out basic electrical repairs (wiring, plugs, light fittings)
  • Perform basic plumbing maintenance
  • Repair and replace door locks and related hardware
  • Operate handyman tools and equipment safely
  • Complete any additional duties as required
  • Ensure a safe working environment and comply with safety regulations
