As part of this two-year structured training programme, you’ll gain both theoretical knowledge and practical experience in wheat and maize milling operations. This apprenticeship is designed to develop your technical expertise, preparing you for a future as a qualified Miller capable of managing production facilities, ensuring food safety, and optimizing operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
- Learn and apply the fundamentals of wheat and maize milling
- Operate and maintain milling machines and equipment
- Monitor production processes to meet quality and safety standards
- Conduct tests and inspections to ensure product consistency

- Adhere to all health, safety, and environmental regulations
Minimum Requirements
To qualify for the Tiger Brands Apprenticeship Programme: Milling Programme, applicants must meet the following:
- Grade 12 / Matric certificate with passes in Mathematics and Science
- A National Technical Certificate (N2–N4) in Mechanical, Electrical, or related engineering fields will be advantageous
- Strong interest in food production, engineering, or milling
- Good communication and teamwork skills
- Ability to work shifts and in a production environment
- Physically fit and safety-conscious
- South African citizenship or valid work authorization
