About the Opportunity (Handyman Vacancies)

Tshwane North TVET College invites qualified and dedicated individuals to apply for two Handyman positions. These roles are perfect for hands-on professionals with practical maintenance experience who can ensure a safe and functional learning environment.

Minimum Requirements

To qualify for Handyman Vacancies, you must have:

  • Basic knowledge and practical experience in maintenance tasks such as electrical work, plumbing, carpentry, and air conditioning.
  • Ability to perform routine repairs and maintenance independently.
  • Experience with key control and coordination with security staff.
  • 24/7 availability and readiness to respond to on-site risks or emergencies.
  • Good communication skills (both verbal and written).
  • Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities.
  • Experience in gardening, landscaping, or cleaning (advantageous).
  • Ability to work calmly under pressure and during emergencies.
  • Valid driver’s license (mandatory).

Key Duties and Responsibilities

As a Handyman, your responsibilities will include:

  • Conducting regular inspections of buildings, fences, doors, and campus facilities.
  • Performing general maintenance such as plumbing, electrical, and carpentry repairs.
  • Securing all windows, doors, and gates after use.
  • Managing and distributing campus keys safely.
  • Assisting with cleaning, gardening, and landscaping tasks.
  • Reviewing and analyzing the Security Occurrence Book daily.
  • Reporting risks, damages, or security issues to management.
  • Compiling daily, weekly, and monthly maintenance reports.
  • Participating in meetings, training, and development sessions.
  • Ensuring all tasks are completed efficiently and within set timelines.
