Nexio, a leading specialist ICT solutions provider, is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Graduate Accountant to join its Finance team in Midrand, Gauteng.

This 12-month graduate contract is ideal for recent Accounting or Finance graduates looking to gain hands-on experience in general accounting, asset management, and financial operations within a fast-paced, technology-driven environment.

Graduate Accountant – Key Responsibilities

The successful Graduate Accountant will be responsible for:

  • Assisting with preparation and posting of journal entries
  • Supporting month-end and year-end close processes
  • Reconciling general ledger accounts and investigating variances
  • Maintaining and updating the fixed asset register
  • Recording asset acquisitions, disposals, and transfers
  • Monitoring asset lifecycle and depreciation schedules
  • Supporting asset procurement and documentation processes
  • Managing and reconciling corporate cards (Amex and fleet cards)
  • Ensuring compliance with internal financial policies and controls
  • Assisting with internal and external audits
  • Supporting preparation of financial reports and management schedules
  • Assisting with tax and statutory compliance
  • Participating in finance projects and process improvement initiatives
  • Performing additional finance-related duties as required

Technical & Professional Competencies

Ideal candidates should demonstrate:

  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Good organisational and time-management skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and MS Office
  • Willingness to learn and take initiative

Qualifications & Experience

To qualify for this Graduate Accountant role, candidates must have:

  • Matric certificate (essential)
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
  • Entry-level experience (internship or vacation work is advantageous)
  • Basic understanding of accounting principles and financial systems
