SALARY : R261 372 per annum (Level 07), an all-inclusive remuneration.

LIBRARIAN REQUIREMENTS

National Senior Certificate plus a Bibliol. Degree/ B Tech in Library Information Courses/ National Diploma in Library and Information Studies (NQF level 6) or comparable studies, together with at least one to two years of professional experience in the Library and Information Service area. Knowledge of public service law, policy, and regulations. The fundamentals of library and information science. Statutes and regulations. Methods and procedures. Excellent computer, organizational, communication, and report writing abilities, as well as exceptional interpersonal and human connections. A solid understanding of stakeholders. A valid code 08 driving license.

DUTIES

Implement the distribution of library content to public and community libraries. Implement awareness campaigns, outreach programs, and library usage promotion across the whole district. Implement inventory management for all library materials at all linked institutions. The selection and processing of materials for delivery to libraries. Conduct monitoring visits to the District’s public libraries. Supervision of district office/depot personnel. Analyze the user requirements provided by public libraries. Monthly compilation and aggregation of user reports and data.
