Dis-Chem Pharmacies is seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Store Cleaner for their new Phoenix Plaza store in KwaZulu-Natal. This part-time fixed-term position is ideal for candidates with prior cleaning experience who take pride in maintaining a clean, hygienic, and customer-friendly environment.

Purpose of the Role
The Store Cleaner is responsible for ensuring all areas of the store, including the shop floor, stockroom, dispensary, admin office, canteen, and restrooms, are kept clean and hygienic to Dis-Chem’s high standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain high levels of cleanliness throughout the store before and during operational hours
- Clean and stock canteen and restrooms with necessary supplies
- Follow daily cleaning routines to ensure all areas remain hygienic
- Use appropriate cleaning products and equipment for specific tasks
- Display wet floor signs when cleaning floors to ensure safety
- Assist customers in a professional and friendly manner when required
- Perform duties according to Health & Safety regulations
Minimum Requirements
- Grade 12 / Matric
- Minimum of 6 months’ cleaning experience
- Good command of English (written and oral)
- Basic customer service skills
- Willing and able to work retail hours
Advantageous:
- Bilingual or additional local language
- Previous retail store cleaning experience

- Trustworthy, honest, and reliable
- Attention to detail and high standard of hygiene
- Presentable and professional
- Able to follow instructions and complete tasks independently
- Good time management skills
Special Conditions of Employment
- Physically fit for walking, standing, climbing, kneeling, bending, and lifting objects
- Reliable transport and/or reside close to the store
- South African citizen with clear credit and criminal records
