Job Overview (General Worker)

The General Worker role supports daily warehouse and distribution operations. Depending on experience and qualifications, successful candidates may be placed in areas such as Receiving, Picking, Loading, Cycle Counting, Forklift Operations, Reach Truck Operations, Auditing, or Combining.

Key Responsibilities

Successful candidates will be responsible for the following duties:

  • Accurately picking stock for stores according to picking slips
  • Loading and offloading trucks safely and efficiently
  • Moving, stacking, and organizing pallets within the warehouse
  • Operating reach trucks or forklifts (where licensed)
  • Combining stock on pallets and shrink-wrapping before dispatch
  • Tracking stock quantities and maintaining warehouse accuracy
  • Counting stock and checking for damages and expiry dates
  • Returning overstocked, damaged, or short-dated stock to the DC timeously
  • Ensuring all warehouse tasks are completed within deadlines

Minimum Requirements

To be considered, applicants must meet the following requirements:

  • Grade 12 / National Certificate
  • 0–2 years warehouse experience (placement depends on experience)
  • Basic computer skills, including Excel
  • Good communication skills
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Ability to work under pressure
  • Team player with a positive attitude
  • Deadline-driven and reliable
  • Basic mathematical skills
  • Forklift or Reach Truck license (required for operator roles)
  • Willingness to work day shifts, night shifts, weekends, Sundays, and public holidays
