Job Overview (General Worker)

Senwes Grainlink is looking for a General Worker to assist with a wide range of operational duties at the Weiveld Silo. This entry-level position requires commitment, reliability, and a willingness to perform physical work in a silo environment.

Key Responsibilities

As a General Worker, you will be responsible for:

General Cleaning & Hygiene

  • Perform cleaning of the yard, bins, buildings, bunkers, containers, and silo spaces.
  • Ensure hygiene standards are maintained at all times.

Grain Handling Support

  • Load and offload grain (bulk and bagged).
  • Assist with bagging, storage, and monitoring of graded screenings.

Pest Control & Fumigation

  • Conduct spraying for pest control in silo bins, machines, and buildings.
  • Assist with bin and storage fumigation procedures.

Maintenance Assistance

  • Provide support during general maintenance tasks when required.

Minimum Requirements

Qualifications

  • Grade 10 (Preference for candidates with a National Senior Certificate).

Experience

  • No experience required (training will be provided).

Skills & Competencies

  • Good communication skills.
  • Basic understanding of the grain industry (advantageous).
  • Willingness to work in a physically demanding environment.
