About the Role (Foreman)
The Foreman will manage engineering maintenance processes, ensure equipment reliability, support operational teams, and drive compliance with engineering and safety standards in line with QCDSM principles.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee daily engineering and maintenance strategies to meet departmental KPIs.
- Plan and manage overhaul activities, maintenance programmes, repairs and equipment replacement.
- Control maintenance budgets and manage maintenance cost per ton (R/t).
- Improve equipment availability through effective downtime management and monitoring of MTTF/MTTR.
- Implement engineering SOPs and ensure compliance with legislation and governance bodies.
- Conduct condition monitoring, root cause analysis and implement predictive maintenance actions.
- Coordinate planning and support departments to achieve production targets.
- Drive safety performance and ensure zero harm, zero fatalities, and SHE compliance.
- Recruit, train, coach and develop technical teams.
- Manage absenteeism, vacancy rates and succession planning for critical roles.
- Conduct planned task observations and support continuous improvement initiatives.
Minimum Requirements
Education
- National Senior Certificate / N3 with Mathematics, Physical/Engineering Science, and English.
- Occupational Trade Qualification/Certificate: Electro Mechanic.
Experience
- 6+ years relevant engineering experience in mining, maintenance or plant operations.
