Key Responsibilities

Prepare Work Areas

  • Set up mise-en-place, place settings, and equipment for seamless service.
  • Arrange restaurant, banqueting, and conferencing facilities to meet event needs.
  • Ensure cleanliness and compliance with health, safety, and hygiene standards.
  • Participate in stock takes and report any issues with equipment or standards.

Deliver Exceptional Food Services

  • Take and process guest orders accurately using POS systems.
  • Explain menu items and make recommendations to enhance guest experiences.
  • Serve food in line with Sun International’s high standards.
  • Clear tables promptly and handle billing or cash-ups as needed.
  • Upsell promotional items to boost revenue.

Provide Outstanding Beverage Services

  • Prepare and serve beverages, including cocktails, per guest orders.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of beverage trends and products.
  • Conduct daily stock counts and complete beverage stock sheets.
  • Report breakages and resolve or escalate anomalies.
  • Leverage upselling opportunities for promotional drinks.

Engage with Guests

  • Welcome guests with warmth and professionalism.
  • Anticipate guest needs and provide tailored solutions.
  • Educate guests about Sun City facilities, rewards programs, and promotions.
  • Handle complaints or requests efficiently, escalating when necessary.

Job Requirements

Education & Experience

  • Grade 12 or equivalent NQ Framework qualification.
  • 2 years of experience as a waiter, bartender, or in a customer-facing role.

Skills & Competencies

  • Strong food and beverage product knowledge.
  • Proficiency in food and beverage service, including barista and cocktail skills.
  • Basic numeracy and computer literacy (POS systems, cashiering).
  • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal English).
  • Ability to upsell and create memorable customer experiences.
  • Strong focus on teamwork, attention to detail, and working under pressure.

Work Conditions

  • Flexible to work shifts, including weekends, evenings, and public holidays.
  • Physically able to move and handle operating equipment.
  • Willingness to support multiple F&B outlets as needed.
