About the OSS Hastings Learnership

The OSS Hastings Learnership is a structured, work-based learning programme aimed at unemployed youth who are passionate about building a career in the financial services and insurance industry.

This 12-month learnership provides participants with practical call centre experience, formal training, and real workplace exposure to help develop job-ready skills.

Successful learners will enter into a fixed-term learnership agreement (not an employment contract) and receive a monthly stipend of R12 000.

Working Hours & Shift Structure

Learners will work according to a pre-determined shift roster, which includes:

  • Friday to Monday shifts (9 hours)
  • Saturdays (8 hours)
  • Sundays (5 hours)
  • Two weekdays off (Tuesday, Wednesday, or Thursday)
  • One weekday per week dedicated to full qualification training on-site

Public Holidays

  • Full-day work is required on South African public holidays if scheduled
  • Exception applies for UK public holidays

INSETA Learnership Eligibility Criteria

To qualify for this INSETA-accredited learnership, applicants must:

  • Be a South African citizen
  • Be between 18 and 35 years old
  • Be unemployed for the past 6 months
  • Not have participated in an INSETA learnership previously
