About the Occupational Hygiene Learner Role

The Assurecloud Occupational Learner role provides practical workplace exposure aligned with SAIOH standards and SafetyCloud’s Quality Management System (QMS). This opportunity is ideal for a recent graduate or part-time student seeking hands-on experience in occupational hygiene.
Key Responsibilities
As an Occupational Hygiene Learner, you will:
- Assist Registered Occupational Hygienists (ROH, ROHT, or ROHA) during monitoring surveys
- Support the preparation of accurate occupational hygiene survey reports
- Ensure reports are completed within required timelines
- Adhere strictly to organisational QMS procedures and standards
- Assist with calibration, preparation, and maintenance of monitoring equipment
- Support handling and preparation of sampling media
Minimum Requirements
To qualify for the Learner job at SafetySA, candidates must meet the following:
Qualifications
- Recently graduated with a Degree in Occupational Hygiene, or
- Currently studying part-time towards an Occupational Hygiene qualification
Professional Registration (Advantageous)
- Registration with SAIOSH as an Occupational Hygiene Assistant
- Valid Legal Knowledge Certificate
- Valid Ethics Training Certificate
Skills & Knowledge
- Basic understanding of occupational hygiene principles and terminology
- Familiarity with monitoring equipment such as:
- Air sampling pumps
- Noise dosimeters
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow procedures
- Good written communication skills for report writing
- Willingness to travel and work flexible hours when required
Additional Requirements
- Valid driver’s licence (or currently in the process of obtaining one)
- Reliable own transport (advantageous)
- Valid passport (advantageous)
